KIDS COMMUTE - Daughter of the Regiment Week! Monday

Bonjour, Kids Commuters! This week, we’re going to the opera! Our theme is “La Fille du Régiment.” That’s French for “The Daughter of the Regiment," an opera by Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti.

The whole opera is about two and a half hours, so we’ll just cover the highlights for you this week. We start in the mountains of Austria during a war between the Austrians and the French. A very fancy Austrian lady is quite worried the French will stop her while she travels, and she has heard that they are quite rude. She’ll tell us all about it in today’s musical selection, “For A Woman of My Name.”

Stick around after the music, because we’ll be introducing this week’s Kids Commute Quizlet. Just like always, if you text us the correct answer, we’ll send you a Kids Commute Prize Pack. Thanks for listening to Kids Commute from Interlochen Public Radio!
