Health department suggests staying away from the water at some TC beaches

The Ticker is reporting on Facebookthat a sewage spill has led health officials in Grand Traverse County to suggest staying out of the water at some beaches in Traverse City.

An estimated 3,000 gallons of untreated sewage were released this afternoon from a sewer main near Cedar Street in Traverse City. As a precaution, the Grand Traverse County Health Department is advising the public to avoid contact with the water in Kid's Creek, the lower part of the Boardman River and at the following beaches until further notice:

Clinch Park Beach
Sunset Park Beach
Bryant Park Beach
Traverse City Senior Center Beach
