A drug that made national headlines last year is on the rise in Wexford County. The drug is known as "bath salts." Wexford County Prosecutor Tony Badovinac says this drug isn't the bath salts you put in the tub when you want to relax.
"It is a bunch of different chemicals that are combined in an attempt to mimic the hallucinogenic effects of drugs like cocaine, methadone and 'meth,' and LSD," said Badovinac.
At the beginning of the year Wexford County used to come across two-to-three incidents per month, says Badovinac. They now see closer to 14 cases a month. In addition to hallucinations, the drug can cause violent and bizarre behavior. Those who use it tend to forget what they did while on it.
