A vigil was held Thursday night to mourn the 17 victims in the Parkland school shooting. Fourteen high school students were killed in the massacre.

Stateside's conversation with high school student Jenna Bowker.

After 17 students were killed in a Florida school last week, some high school students in Kalamazoo decided they needed to do something.

Under the banner of “Students Fighting Guns Since Adults Won’t,” eight students drafted a petition and put it up on Change.org, a popular petition website.

They’re seeking “comprehensive and responsible gun control policy.”

62,000 people have signed the petition.

Jenna Bowker is one of the eight students who drafted this petition. She joined Stateside today to explain why this petition was the right course of action, and what specific changes she and her group hope to see.  Listen above.(Subscribe to the Stateside podcast oniTunes,Google Play, or with thisRSS link)
