Up North Lowdown, Ep. 11: Juneteenth

Juneteenth — June 19 — is becoming an official holiday in Michigan, and it's been a federal holiday since 2021. We'll talk with two of the organizers of celebrations in Traverse City.

Plus, IPR arts and culture commentator Joe Beyer tells us about a new exhibition at the Dennos: "Jerry's Map." It's really the story about how a fascination with maps led to some noteworthy art.

And we hear a little bit from a new single from composer and singer-songwriter Tony Manfredonia, all about Petoskey.
