Unofficial election results are in for Michigan's August Primary. The following results are subject to change as more information comes in.
1st Congressional District
U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman (R-Watersmeet) ran unopposed in Tuesday's primary. His Democratic challenger is Dana Ferguson, who won the party's nomination. Michigan's 1st Congressional District is comprised of the entire Upper Peninsula and parts of northern Lower Michigan.
101st State House Seat
Incumbent Republican State Rep. Jack O'Malley (R-Lake Ann) beat his Republican challenger Carolyn Cater in Tuesday's primary. He'll go up for re-election against Beth McGill-Rizer, who won the Democratic primary. The 101st covers Mason, Manistee, Benzie and Leelanau counties.
103rd State House Seat
Incumbent Daire Rendon won the Republican primary Tuesday and will face re-election against Democrat Zach Larson in November. The 103rd is comprised of Kalkaska, Roscommon, Crawford, Missaukee and Ogemaw counties.
104th State House Seat
Republican John Roth won the party's primary Tuesday. He'll face off against Democrat Dan O'Neil for Grand Traverse County's 104th State House seat when it's vacated later this year by State Rep. Larry Inman (R-Williamsburg.)
105th State House Seat
Democrat Jonathan Burke will face Republican Ken Borton in the general election. The seat's current occupant is State House Majority Floor Leader Triston Cole (R-Mancelona) who is term-limited. The 105th District is comprised of Antrim, Otsego, Montmorency and Oscoda counties.
107th State House Seat
John Damoose beat out a crowded group of Republicans to vie for the 107th state house seat, which will be vacated by Speaker of the State House Lee Chatfield (R-Levering.) Damoose will be up against Democrat Jim Page in the general election. Michigan's 107th District is comprised of parts of northern Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula around the Straits of Mackinac.
110th State House Seat
Janet Metsa beat out two other Democrats to run in November's general election against Incumbent State Rep. Gregory Markkanen (R-Hancock.) The 110th is comprised of Gogebic, Ontonagon, Keweenaw, Baraga, Houghton and Iron counties in the Upper Peninsula.
Grand Traverse County Sheriff
Grand Traverse County Sheriff Tom Bensley handily won Tuesday's Republican primary for sheriff. He'll go up against Democratic activist Greg Hall.
Ballot proposals:
A millage to raise funds for Kalkaska's Kaliseum Recreational Complex failed by an unnofficial tally of about 150 votes.
A Sinking Fund Millage Proposal for Suttons Bay Schools passed.
