Gov. Rick Snyder is calling for more money to be spent on public schools in Michigan. The governor spoke about the issue during his final State of the State address last week.
“I’m going to be proposing the largest increase in the basic per pupil student foundation allowance in the last 15 years,” Snyder said. “Let’s invest more in the operations of our schools.”
This proposed increase comes on the heels of a study released earlier this month that says Michigan is underfunding its schools by thousands of dollars per student in some cases.
