LTHS Zoom Event: Michigan Heritage Home Program

LTHS Zoom Event: Michigan Heritage Home Program

Little Traverse Historical Society has announced a Zoom event with Bob Myers, the Director of History Programming for the Historical Society of Michigan, on Thursday, September 16 at 7:00 PM. Myers will speak about the Michigan Heritage Home program, which recognizes local houses that were constructed at least 100 years ago and are in substantially original condition. Recognized houses are given Michigan-made cast-aluminum plaque authorized by the Historical Society of Michigan. Bob Myers holds a BA in history from Alma College and an MA in history from Western Michigan University. He oversees many of the Historical Society of Michigan’s programs, including its Michiganders on the Road bus tours, History Hounds lecture series, and History Skills Workshop series. He has authored numerous books, and his articles have appeared in Michigan History Magazine, Chronicle, and Michigan Historical Review. He has researched the histories of about 40 houses and leads the Historical Society of Michigan’s new Michigan Heritage Home program. He and his wife Candace live in Grand Ledge, where they are restoring their third old house, this one a 1903 Colonial Revival.
