Watch & listen to a free, 30-minute demonstration from Heidi’s Petoskey studio, followed by discussion with Q&A on Thursday, February 25 at 4pm. Have you ever noticed colorful endpapers inside antique books, showing impossibly intricate patterns? These are original hand-painted papers, often made by European artisans. Part of the book arts, the marbling process dates back to the tenth Century. Watch as colorful paint is floated on special fluid. Tools are used to create swirling, complicated-looking patterns, and then a single print is made and lifted out of the bath.
