Education promotes a positive birth experience by preparing you and your support person for labor and delivery. This class includes information on the norms and variations of birth, allowing for educated decision making and greater over-all satisfaction with your experience. You and your partner will practice a variety of natural strategies for coping with the physical and emotional challenges of labor as well as having a clear explanation of your pain medication options. Postpartum care of mom and baby in the hospital and going home is also presented. While Cesarean birth is an unexpected outcome, we will discuss why it may be necessary and how to make it a positive event. This class is designed for the expectant mom and her birth partner, but you are welcome to attend alone. Recommended during early to mid third trimester of pregnancy. This four week series meets on the following dates: 9/14/2020, 9/16/2020, 9/21/2020, 9/23/2020, from 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM.
