It’s Thursday - Day Four of Alexandre Desplat Week on Kids Commute from Interlochen Public Radio. All week long we’ve highlighted selections from some of Desplat’s most famous film scores. So far, three of our selections were from scores that earned Mr. Desplat Oscar Nominations.
In today’s show, we talk about how incredibly hard working Desplat is in term of the number of movie and television scores he’s written. We also find out Desplat’s strategy for winning an Oscar for Best Original Score: get nominated twice in the same year. Wow! The Kids Commute team is impressed with that accomplishment. Hear what all the hype is about as we listen to “The New Lobby Boy” from the 2014 film “The Grand Budapest Hotel” directed by Wes Anderson. Make sure to stick around after the music to get the last clue to the answer for this week’s Quizlet.
