If you’ve been wanting a better understanding of the Line 5 oil tunnel’s real risks and are looking for ways to engage to help stop it, you’ll want to attend.
Groundwork Center, Sierra Club, Progress Michigan, and Oil & Water Don't Mix have teamed up to present the event.
Some of the leading voices in the movement to shut down Line 5 will offer a compelling, clear, and multi-layered picture of why the oil tunnel is a risky and false solution—and explain why we cannot afford to wait to shut down the existing dual pipelines. A Q&A session will give you a chance to ask your questions.
Presenters will also suggest ways you can take action to help stop the proposed oil tunnel and, more broadly, help shut down the freshwater apocalypse-in-waiting known as Line 5.
This event happens at a crucial moment in the arc of Line 5, with multiple court cases and permit reviews underway and key decisions expected in the coming months.

Andrew will share information on over 300 species and 20+ families of birds that are likely to show up along the shoreline or flying above Lake Huron. He will also briefly discuss some of the most controversial ecological issues surrounding colonial waterbirds nesting on northern Lake Huron’s islands.
